HAMMERCON 2019

Fire Forge Art was created to bring metal and art together while having fun doing it.

Matt Stevens founded this forge in 2018.  Matt’s origins of metal working began in Holderness New Hampshire with mentoring and instruction from Rob Hudson.

Through the years Matt has been involved in the commercial construction business using skilled craftsman to produce spectacular projects using metal, plaster and wood through his specialty contracting firm, Island Diversified www.islanddiversified.com and www.idthermal.com .  Some of the projects completed are the Freedom Tower (Seamless Acoustical Plaster and Veneer Plaster), The New York Times headquarters (Orange Venetian Plaster), The Fashion Center in New York City (Ornamental Plaster), TWA Restoration at JFK (Re-Creation of shapes and features using metal and cement; as originally designed by Eero Saarinen), The New York Historical Society (re-creation and restoration of elaborate groin vaults and plaster walls), The Museum of Natural History Rose Planetarium (Metal Skin surrounding the entire planetarium in the shape of a sphere), and the list goes on.

Fire Forge Art is a place to bring different mediums and ideas, create a synergy, and produce objects that appeal to the eye of the beholder.
